A new bill passed in the state of California allows family members and close friends to contact law enforcement if they think an individual can be a threat to themselves or others. 

Temporary Restraining Order

​​Upon a judges approval, a temporary restraining order is served to the individual. The individual must surrender their firearm(s).

You have 24 hours to surrender your weapon to Mark Wakeling Firearms or law enforcement.

What Happens to the Firearm?

The restraining order can last from

21 days or extend to over a year based on the judicial system. Typically, after 180 day the firearms may be sold at auction or destroyed.
